Track D – Digitalisation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are reshaping how cities and regions are understood, planned and managed. Advances in big data, machine learning and real-time analysis create new opportunities to explore spatial and societal change and support decision-making. Alongside these opportunities, however, come important questions around participation, accountability, bias and the competencies required to work with these technologies.

Track T – Transformative governance brings together science and society to enable meaningful change towards sustainability. Through co-creation, experimentation and new ways of thinking, it can help reshape institutions, policies and practices. Track B – Bridging digitalisation and transformative governance have the potential to reshape how cities and regions respond to sustainability challenges. But how do these two trends come together in practice? This track explores their potential and risks, possible conflicts and synergies, and real-world examples of how they can work together./p>

Interactive sessions and formats will foster engagement and exchange between participants of the conference. These include the Digital Tool Slam in which participants have just a few minutes each to present their digital application in a live and engaging way. The audience will vote to award the most innovative tool. The results of the Sustainability Transformation HaCLAthon challenge, which focuses on collaborative work with data will be presented.
